Prince George’s sheriff’s deputies spread out across the county to make a statement against domestic violence.
“We’re not going to tolerate domestic violence,” said Cpl. William Milam, a county sheriff’s department spokesman.
Sheriff deputies arrested 67 suspects of domestic violence-related crimes in a joint initiative with more than 100 law enforcement agencies in 22 states on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The National Family Violence Apprehension Detail, started by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon has been a nationally-recognized warrant reduction program for the past 10 years. The Prince George’s department has been a part of the program since it first began, Milam said.
