The Prince George’s County Council on Monday approved the controversial 37-acre Cafritz rezoning, a project slated to feature the county’s first Whole Foods, plus a great deal of new residential development.
The 7-2 council vote came despite a general agreement by members that the project conflicts with long-term planning guidance and will create a traffic mess in the area of Riverdale Park, University Park and College Park.
