Gaming or gambling is about chance and trying to beat the odds. Some people play for recreation, and others take a more calculated approach. Players who calculate base their decisions and investments on strategies that will yield the greatest return.

I am not a gambler. I make decisions based on research and data. When I decided to support the expansion of gamingto Prince George’s County, I did so based on information and research. I saw an opportunity that would provide the best outcome for Prince George’s and for Maryland.

The opportunity before the Maryland legislature is not about gaming. It results from deliberate focus on building a high-end resort destination that would make Prince George’s County a player in the region’s travel and tourism market. Gaming would provide an important differentiator to make this facility unique in the Washington region.
