Legislation targeting prostitution hot spots and under-the-radar strip clubs was approved Tuesday by the Prince George’s County Council as the lawmakers concluded their legislative year.

A measure proposed by Councilwoman Andrea Harrison (D-Dist. 5) of Springdale allows Prince George’s County police to establish temporary “prostitution-free” zones, in which officers would have greater powers to arrest suspected offenders.

I am in all likelihood, one of the reasons why they make peppermint-flavored shoes. Every onest in awhile I will stick my foot in my mouth.

Since I was 19 y/o on a summer evening in France and met my first working woman, I have wondered what it was that riled people up over something they do at home.

Yes, the women that sell sex for cash are not doing anything different than wives who will hold sex hostage to get men to do their bidding.

And a wife costs more than a prostitute. A man gives them cash, does it, and leaves. He does not have to buy them clothes, fix their teeth, get a house and car, take them shopping, or any of the other things you do for a wife/partner.

Marriage is a man made institution created for possession. A legal possession of a person, property, and inheritance rights and prove ownership. Love has nothing to do with it. Love started out with lust then grows with time into mutual comfort being with some one you feel safe being together.

Women have used sex as a tool since hominids settled in caves. Some women do it because they enjoy it. Some women only do it as a chore they are obligated to do as an obligation for other comforts and support.

Historically, women were property, and even now in other parts of the world and passed on to the eldest son for care after the husband died of desease or were killed. It is only recently [in history] that they were emancipated in some Countries with advanced cultures. In which the marriage contract gave them possession of property by law.

The mantra that these women are all victims has never been true. For some, of course, it happens, the sex traffickers are the same as drug traffickers. However, for the rest it is a means of support and income they are unable to get in other ways, or by choice. They can make more money than a day job.

In closing, the one I met in Parris was a refugee from Eastern Europe and was working until she saved enough to open a restaurant on the coast of France. And at 71 y/o I still remember her fondly for her kindness to a young puppy.
