Equine industry group considers future

With so much attention being paid to the recent closure of Rosecroft Raceway in Fort Washington, Fort Washington resident David Turner asked Prince George's County's equine industry task force to also keep the needs of small horse farmers in mind when the group brings recommendations to county lawmakers next month.

From improving county horse trails to preserving enclaves of rural land inside the Beltway — such as the Broad Creek Historic District, where Turner lives — Turner said owners of small horse farms also need help to stay in business.

"We urge you to adopt the small horsemen," Turner said during a public forum Aug. 19 hosted by the Prince George's Equine Industry Task Force.

Could the property be leased ? To be turned into a solar and or wind farm ?
I've got ideas of ways to do so under development .
How large an area does this consist of ?

I think a wind farm would be great, but I wouldn't spend my time advocating for it as I think it would be difficult to sell to legislators - assuming the county would have to buy the property. It's an expensive lot as it's quite large and near the DC beltway so it could be a big money-maker for a developer, though if someone was willing to spearhead the project (Sierra Club?) then a lot of people might get behind it since we don't need more houses and cars here and our electric company can't seem to keep up with demand sometimes.

No,no I would want to lease the property . You speak of the (Sierra Club ) I think they would endorse my concept . Of both solar and wind .
I have a different Idea of application to build a solar farm
My idea could be worked out ,so as it could be placed in place in a couple of weeks . Without having to dig up the parking lot . If and when it might be needed to be moved . It could be moved in a couple of weeks , and be left as if it was never there .
The wind farms , I've seen out in the mid-west would not work in such a small area . But I have an idea about much smaller wind turbines , much better suited to the area .
They would have to have holes dug in the ground , to set them . But could be placed where they possibly could be left behind , and continue to produce power .
Some would say the weather isn't well suited to do ether in this area . I would have to take a closer look . My ideas are like non- others . They could be used around the world .
I have a number of clean renewable energy ideas .

It would be great if they could be implemented. I haven't a clue how that could be done. I wish you'd give it a try.

The sad part ,is it would take years to develop . I feel sure it would work .
What draws me to the idea , is an area of about 3,000 acres being used about three weeks a year . In California they think they've done something . They've got a 200 acre solar farm .
Sorry , my goal is no less than 30,000 acres . Could I change the world ?
